Softball team to host NCAA Southeast Regional

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ softball team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional and will host a four-team, double-elimination pod May 8-10 with a Super Regional spot on the line.

The No. 10 Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) softball team has earned the No. 2 seed in the and will host one of the regional's two four-team, double-elimination pods from May 8-10.

Tickets are available for $10 per day on the and include all games for the day.

The opening day for NCAA tournament action is May 8 at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park in Dahlonega, Georgia. Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (42-12) will face No. 7 seed Tusculum University (37-17) at 2 p.m. No. 3 seed Lenoir-Rhyne University (36-17) and No. 6 seed Lincoln Memorial University (34-18) will face off at 4:30 p.m.

The second day of games is set for noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 9, with the championship of the four-team pod set for noon May 10 and a second game 2:30 p.m. May 10 if needed.

No. 1 seed Francis Marion, also ranked No. 3 nationally, will host the other Southeast Regional pod, which includes No. 4 seed Wingate University, No. 5 seed Flagler College and No. 8 seed Georgia Southwestern State University.

The winners of the two Southeast regional pods will meet at the highest-remaining seed May 15-16 in a best-of-three Super Regional series with a chance to advance to the NCAA Division II championship May 22-28 at Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the site of Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s 2023 national championship run. 

This marks the 12th consecutive season in which the Nighthawks will host a portion of the Southeast Regional tournament. 

Following its regular-season Peach Belt Conference (PBC) championship, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ fell 7-4 to Georgia Southwestern State in the PBC tournament title game. The Nighthawks won 1-0 against University of South Carolina Beaufort and 7-4 against Lander University to reach the PBC championship game.

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team NCAA Division II Southeast Regional pod May 12-13 at Clemson University. Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s men are the No. 6 seed and play in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Both Âé¶¹´«Ã½ golf teams have punched tickets to their respective NCAA Division II regional tournaments. The women will play in Gainesville, Georgia, and the men in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
